One of the things we’ve tried to do over the past 17 years is to celebrate those who have given of themselves to BEST and to our community. We’ve embraced these superheroes as family and shared their stories. We’ve learned from them and become stronger because of them.
BEST is better because of our friendships. Recently, Janet Mott, a long time personal friend and BEST enthusiast, passed away. Janet was a passionate supporter of the brain injury community.
She always had a can-do approach to helping others. Whether it was one to one guidance or assisting with the annual WA State TBI Conference. She made such a difference in so many lives. We’ll miss her humor, insights, and generous heart.
Brain NW (formerly BIAWA) is hosting a memorial on 12 July 2025. (Event details have been removed as of 14 July 2025.)
We will miss her encouragement, support, and the many times over the years that she came to Our BEST Space to share her wisdom, play with us, and help many of our BESTies navigate health and social care systems.
