Here’s to a little silliness in the mix!
As brain injury awareness month comes to a close, we’ve explored our personal creativity and how it propels us forward as a superpower.
It’s the most important superpower we have in so many ways, especially right now.
Here’s to your possibilities, today and every day!
- regard for one’s own well-being and happiness
The definition of self-love shown above is the dictionary definition.
On its own, it’s great.
But how can take the definition of self-love from great to SUPER? How can we take self-love and help it soar to new heights for the real-life superheroes of the brain injury community?
Here are three ideas.
Self-love is empowered and unique. We are empowered to love ourselves in whatever ways work best for us. Self-love is different for everyone and that’s okay.
Self-love is creative. Self-love challenges us to look at new and creative ideas, while keeping an open mind to see things in fresh ways.
Self-love inspires others. When we love ourselves, it shows, and it inspires others to do the same!
For the BEST community, we are passionate about self-love and self-care. And when we work on these things by sharing ideas and supporting each other, together, we soar like superheroes taking flight!
We think that’s the BEST definition for self-love.
Our BEST friend, Renne Emiko Brock, is a local artist, college instructor and a passionate superhero advocate who supports and empowers others to be their best selves.
She shares her work, passions, and support in the real world, as well as in the virtual world platform of Second Life.
For Brain Injury Awareness Month 2020, Renne lends her words, wisdom and inspiration for our theme: Creativity is a Superpower!
At BEST, together we support each other in finding our voice as we explore our own creativity.
Thank you Renne for the important reminder and super Monday Motivation!
Welcome to Brain Injury Awareness Month, Creativity is a Superpower! Here’s our special schedule for the month:
Today, March 1, 2020, we begin with Self-Love Sunday. Here are 31 creative things to think about to show yourself a little love on this important month of awareness, learning, support and inspiration.
Our BEST Superhero the Month for February 2020 has had a lifelong passion for service and giving back to the community in many ways.
Most notably though, his longtime support and service to the veteran community has been the driving force behind that passion to help others.
The Brain Energy Support Team (BEST) is honored to announce that Pat Steel is our BEST Superhero of the Month.
Pat, a veteran himself, began working with Heroes to Hometown (H2H) in Pierce County in Washington State in 2005. H2H was created by the Department of Defense in 2005 to enable and assist communities in developing programs to support military veterans and their families when the veterans were returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat has been a strong advocate and supporter of local area veterans, active duty servicemembers and their families for 15 years.
Our superhero has also been superhero to BEST. He’s been a longtime supporter and donor for the organization.
Here’s what Steel’s nominator had to say about him:
Pat has been a long-time friend to BEST and also a donor over the years. His commitment to veterans and active duty military personnel is unmatched in our community. As the driving force behind Heroes to Hometown, Pat’s passion for community networks is evident every time he connects agencies and people to meet the needs of service members.
BEST thanks to Pat for all of his love and support for the military community and the brain injury community.
