Online Accessible Yoga for Brain Injury Survivors Starts June 1
The Wallingford Brain Injury Support Group, a program of the Imaginal Network, in partnership with the Brain Energy Support Team, are offering an 8-week online yoga class for people living with brain injury.
The dates are Mondays from 1- 2 pm PST beginning June 1 and going through July 20.
No matter what your experience with yoga or your physical ability, we welcome you to class. We’ll be building very basic breathing, movement, and relaxation skills and adapting all the movements for each student’s ability.
If you are interested in attending one or all of our classes, the first step is to email Janet Novinger: janet@explorationsconsulting.
The form only needs to be filled out one time. After that, we will send a link out for every class.
This class is no charge; however, donations are gladly accepted for those who are able.

BEST in Second Life: BEST has created a virtual presence for reaching out to those with brain injury and their caregivers. BEST hosts a variety of free social events, small group discussions, workshops, and skills training. Our goal in Second Life is to support those with brain injury engage in alternative and meaningful learning and peer support. Our office can be found on Etopia Island in Second Life. Puget Sounders: Free Yoga Class Offered May 2016
Studies and evidence have shown that the practice of yoga offers many benefits; in fact, yoga has a powerful effect on the entire body and overall health and wellness. Not only does the practice of yoga increase endurance, strength and flexibility, yoga’s meditative and deep breathing techniques help with focus, relaxation, stress relief and much more.
With that in mind, we’ve got a terrific spring yoga opportunity that we are really excited about!
The Brain Energy Support Team (BEST) is partnering with the Tacoma Area Coalition of Individuals with Disabilities (TACID) in Tacoma, Washington, to host a FREE introductory yoga class in May (see flyer below for details). The instructor will guide participants through the journey of learning about the practice and benefits of yoga and class instruction is designed to accommodate people with visible and invisible disabilities.
The class will be held at TACID on Wednesdays and Fridays for the entire month of May from 3 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Room 21. TACID is located at 6315 S. 19th Street in Tacoma.
Equipment, water and a participant journal will be provided at no charge. Participants are also asked to wear loose and comfortable clothing to class.
No experience necessary.
