That’s why we are absolutely thrilled to announce our upcoming activities and classes to be held at Our BEST Space and the BEST Learning Center in University Place, Washington. And believe us when we tell you that there is truly something for everyone!

Living Well with Chronic Conditions

Join a safe, supportive six-week self-management workshop and discover new, practical ways to live better and healthier.

Home Budgeting & Money Management

Tuesday, 3/3, 6:30pm – 8:30pm ($10)

Whether you live alone or have a family, get paid once a month or every week, this workshop is for you. Learn simple ways to budget your income, manage your expenses and save a few dollars, too.

Workshop fee is $10. Materials are included.

Small Business Basics

Beginning 3/3, 4pm – 6p, ($49)

Whether you’re an artist or a carpenter, if you’re exploring the possibility of becoming an entrepreneur as part of your life after brain injury then join us for Small Business Basics. You’ll learn everything from organizing your files to simple financial record keeping and everything in between. No experience is necessary. Materials included in the class fee of $49.

8 session are held every other week for a total of 16 weeks.

Empowered Self Program

Thursday 2/26, 12 weeks, 11am – 12:30pm ($1,800 Course Fee)

When people develop a mental image of how to achieve their goals, their sense of hope is strengthened. We use a process that helps individuals create a mental map that illustrates what is likely to be helpful and what may be barriers to creating a better future. The BEST Empowered Self: Personal Planning Program is a dynamic and empowering approach helping individuals identify interests and build on their strengths.

A 12-week program that focuses on Personal Futures Planning, Identity, Communication, and more;

Pre & Post Assessments;

A guided process to help create a plan for the future and gather the tools and strategies needed to carry out that plan;

Enrolled students are assigned a PEER Empowerment Coach for personal one-on-one support;

Students are eligible to participate in all BEST workshops and activities free of charge.

Class fee is $1,800. Materials included. Scholarships are available.

Musical Journey Group

1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the Month, 3pm – 4pm (FREE)

Musical Journey is a new and unique music-based group that fosters supportive and empathetic relationship among participants, encourages creativity and provides opportunities for brain exercise for optimum brain fitness through musical experiences. Led by a board certified music therapist, we will create music, move to the rhythm and music and participate in cognitive skills exercises through music. It could be singing, playing instruments, active music listening or writing our own songs, but NO musical experience is required!

Wii Bowl! Do You?

Fridays, 3pm to 5pm (FREE)

Do you love the sound of pins crashing when you roll a strike, but being at a bowling alley is overwhelming? Then join us for fun on our Wii bowling lane. Fridays is your time to bowl your BEST with friends in a low sensory space. This activity is free and part of our Wii Love Wellness program.

Games, Games. Games

Fridays, 3pm – 5pm (FREE)

Yahtzee, Monopoly, Scrabble, Pictionary, Uno and more. Fridays are the day to dress down and play it up. Join friends and bring family for fun and games.

Fabric Crafts with Karen

Mondays, 1pm – 2:30pm ($5.00 Material Fee)

Karen Sheppard loves to sew! Join her for fun, easy projects like aprons, lunch bags, pet blankets and so much more.  With lots of fabrics and notions to play with, your creativity is bound to blossom.  No experience or materials needed.

Stitching It Up

Wednesdays, 5pm – 7pm (FREE)

Crafting is a great way to make friends and learn new skills while having a lot of fun. Join us for special projects you’ll love to show off to family and friends. No experience is needed. Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty (some projects involve paint and glue).

Photography Club

Wednesdays, 5pm – 7pm (FREE)

Photographers, unite! Join us on Wednesdays to share photos, techniques, challenges and more.

Late Lunch Chess Club

Fridays. 1pm – 2:30pm (FREE)

Chess is not only a great brain-builder, it is also fun. Join us as we battle pawns and capture kings.

Stone Soup Group

Wednesdays, 12pm – 1pm (FREE)

Join us as we explore BEST ways of improving our brains and health through good food. Soup will be provided. Join us every Wednesday. Bring a friend.

Monday Night Movies

Mondays. 5:30pm – 8pm, ($2.00 Ticket Price)

Some of us like Monday Night Football. Some of us don’t. If you’re one of us that prefer movies over football join us every Monday for a series show beginning at 5:30pm followed by a feature film.

Lunch & Learn Series

Tuesdays beginning 3/3 (12:30 – 1:30)

Tuesday is the day to “brown bag” your lunch and join us for our Lunch & Learn Series! See our calendar at https://brainenergysupportteam.org for topics.
